Friday, January 8, 2022, has seen the celebration of Ethiopian Christmas in which green coffee trade activities have gone only up to Thursday.ECX’s trading floor has entertained the trade of 1,602,353 kg. The trade of Naturals accounted for 1,479,831kg while Washed ones covered only 122,522 kg where we have seen a volume decrement for both coffees traded compared to the previous week. The volume of natural Sidamo reached 285,175 kg which has seen a 26.4% increment with an additional 75,448 kg compared to the prior week.
The ever-increasing red cherry price is seeing record prices of $1.11/kg - $1.22/kg for Washed Sidamo & $0.97/kg -1.05/kg for Washed limmu. Vertical contract agreements have gone $5/kg-$5.24/kg for Washed limmu while Washed Sidamo record went to $6.55-$7.03/kg. ECTA’s prices for Washed limmu G2 were $2.12/Ib, Washed Sidamo G2 at $2.71/lb. & Natural Sidamo G4 at $1.88/Ib in which prices got stabler with minor decrement compared to the previous week.
