Ethiopia’s coffee contributes to 25% of the country’s export revenue 

According to the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the country brought in more than USD 3.6 billion during the last budget year. This amount comes mainly from exports to the USA, Europe, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Saudi Israel, and China of agricultural (2.47 billion USD) and mining products (668 million USD). Out of 2.4 billion USD, the Ethiopian Tea and Coffee Authority has mentioned that the coffee sector has generated one-fourth of the country's export revenue.

New association to lead CoE 2022

ECTA’s DG Adugna Debela told, newly formed Ethiopian Coffee Association will take the major lead in the organization of Cup of Excellence (CoE) 2022 which was assisted by Feed the Future Value chain for the past 2 years.

In its 3rd edition, held for the 1st time virtually with Rwanda as the host country, the World Coffee Producers Forum (WCPF) laid solid foundations for advancing the prosperity of coffee growers in the world, going beyond simply ensuring them a vital income.
