Kelem Wellega is working towards the supply of 33,000 MT of green coffee.

Kelem Wellega is one of the prominent coffee-growing zones that produces lekempti coffee Known for its signature heavier body, balanced and lingering profile. Recently, the region's coffee development authority announced more than 32,000 MT of green coffee supply to the central market in the recently ended Ethiopian fiscal year (July 8, 2022 - July 7, 2023). The authority also reported that the coffee has been traded through five hundred-two suppliers and five farmer cooperatives. The sub-region’s trade office emphasized that the zone is working on delivering higher-quality 33,000 MT of coffee in the current Ethiopian fiscal year (July 8, 2023 –July 9, 2024).

ECTA’S CTC graduated the center’s 4th batch of baristas and coffee cuppers 

It is to be recalled that the Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority’s (ECTA) Coffee Training Center (CTC) has graduated high-caliber coffee-cupping trainees for three rounds. This week has seen the graduation of the center’s fourth batch of 58 baristas and coffee-cupping professionals.

Following last year’s ‘How far would you go for Nespresso? In the TV ad, the comedic trio of George Clooney, Jean Dujardin (a French actor), and Camille Cottin (a French actress) are back on screens for another round of humor. The trio returned to launch the company’s new line of home-compostable paper-based coffee capsules.
